After reading your article, “Scientists: Get ready for global warming,” I was very much afraid for Man’s future.  Not because I believe in the global warming nonsense, but because of the consequences we willface as environmentalists continue to assault Man and technology while the media presents only one side of the story.

Your article implies that most scientists are in agreement about global warming, while only a small minority are not.  In fact, the opposite is true.

For instance, when the UN bureaucrats assembled a large group of scientists to study global warming, they drafted the summary known as the Kyoto protocol.  In so doing, to present the illusion of a consensus, they included all 10,000 contributors whether they agreed with the summary or not.  This number also included non-scientists, such as clerks and the like.  How does a scandal like this go virtually unmentioned by the media, while any scandal involving President Clinton makes the front page?

In response to this protocol, 15,000 scientists responded by declaring their opposition to the Kyoto protocol.  This is far more than the 10,000 who were allegedly in agreement with it.  Again, this fact went virtually unmentioned by the media.

Moreover, we are always told about the alleged mechanisms causing global warming and its imagined affects, but are never presented with any evidence.  On the other hand, the enormous evidence to the contrary is always ignored.  Nor are we told  about potential benefits, if it were true, such as increased food production.  It appears that global warming is taken on faith and is never questioned.

I don’t know who to blame most; the Man hating environmentalists who are trying to destroy technology and obtain government funds; the politicians who want to further their careers; or the media for being one-sided and failing to investigate and report the truth.

In her book, The New Left: The Anti-Industrial Revolution, Ayn Rand warned that environmentalism would be the next crusade of the leftist activists.  She was right, but it is amazing how quite the oppositions is--for now.
